Damayan Organizers Visit Local Churches to Spread the Word about Workers' Rights!

On Sunday, January 20, Damayan organizers visited Filipino churches in Elmhurst to spread the word about the NYC Worker’s Bill of Rights and the services our organization offers to support immigrant workers, like our our free legal clinics and our Know Your Rights presentations. We received a warm welcome from the congregations and spoke to people one-on-one about the rights of workers in NYC and ways they can be informed, prepared and empowered as (im)migrant workers. We also invited the congregations to our next Know Your Rights Training for Immigrant Workers on Saturday, January 26 from 3 to 4:30pm at the Elmhurst Baptist Church (87-37 Whitney Ave). This event will be free and open to the public, with Tagalog and English interpretation available.
