Damayan presents at NYU class
On Monday August 10, Damayan organizers Lydia Catina-Amaya and Riya Ortiz presented about the need to organize Filipino migrant workers in Anasa Hicks' class on domestic service in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries at New York University. They discussed the socio-economic conditions that force Filipinos to migrate, the situation of Filipino domestic workers, and Damayan's mission, services, programs, and Baklas, its campaign against labor trafficking and modern slavery.
